When should I apply?
Apply as soon as you can. We suggest applying at least two months before the internship starts. The internships fill up fast, and we stop accepting applications when we are full. Deposits serve as a way to lock in your spot in the internship.
If someone gives me money for my tuition, is it Tax-deductible?
Yes, Just have them make out the check to Orlando House of Prayer.
Do I need a car or a laptop?
No. However, we recommend that each intern have access to a car during the internship, as it is helpful for getting to classes and for personal shopping. If this is not possible please communicate with leadership. Laptops are not needed.
Where may I live during my internship?
Interns are responsible for their own housing, however if you are from out of town OHOP will help spread the word of your need to rent a room.
Can I hold a job during the internship?
Although allowed it’s highly discouraged due to the heavy schedule our interns will need to follow. If necessary, perhaps a part time job in the evening.
If I attend Intro to OHOP, do I have to join staff?
Intro to OHOP is intended specifically for people who mean to join staff, however, you are not obligated to apply for staff if you decide against doing so at any time.
